Worked on a number of smaller Burroughs Machine's clients during my industrial placement year (a.k.a. sandwich year). On returning to the company (now re-named Unisys, the merger of Sperry Rand Corporation with Burroughs Machines) having completed my degree, I was assigned to the LLoyds TSB project, and worked in a number of areas but specifically the CTOS systems, developing custom software for the TSB branch systems. During this period I also represented the UK project team at the Unisys corporate headquarters in Los Angeles, USA - making several US trips - where I was involved in showing the main Unisys development teams what we had developed for TSB, because TSB wouldn't accept anything unless Unisys Corp was prepared to support it long-term.
